What Are The Types of Silicone Oil?
Common commercial silicone oil includes methyl silicone oil, vinyl silicone oil, methyl hydrogen silicone oil, block silicone oil, amino silicone oil, phenyl silicone oil, methyl phenyl silicone oil and polyether modified silicone oil, etc. The silicone oil that can be used directly as a product is usually called primary products. The compound, emulsion and solution which is used silicone oil as raw materials or additives and added thickener, surfactant, solvent, filler and various performance improvers and prepared by specific process is called silicone oil secondary processing products.
Application Fields of Silicone Oil
1.Daily chemical industry
Silicone emulsion is widely applied in cosmetics. After adding appropriate amount of silicone oil, the cosmetics can be lubricate, resistant to sunlight and ultraviolet radiation and well air-permeable. Also because of the hydrophobic property of silicone oil, it can improve the waterproof and sweat resistant performance of cosmetics.
2.Textile industry
In textile and garment industry, silicone oil can be used as softener, lubricating agent, waterproof agent and finishing agent, etc. for fabrics. In order to meet the high-end demand of textiles, chemical manufacturers are also developing silicone oil that can be used together with various functional auxiliaries such as waterproof agent, flame retardant, antistatic agent and fixing agent, etc. In addition, in order to improve the performance of the fabric, there are silicone products that can be used in the same bath with dyeing, silicone oil with cool hand feeling, silicone products that can improve the handle of fabric and silicone deepening agent that can give the fabric excellent deepening effect, good storage stability without affecting color fastness and with good hand feeling, etc.
3.Machinery industry
In machinery industry, silicone oil is used for damping and shock absorption. It is widely applied in motors, electrical appliances and electronic instruments as insulation media for temperature resistance, arc corona resistance, corrosion resistance, moisture protection and dust prevention. Also it is used as impregnant for scanning transformer of transformer, capacitor and TV set.
4.Heat conduction
Heat-conducting silicone grease is the most widely used heat-conducting medium, whose raw material is silicone oil.
5.Demoulding
Because it is not sticky with rubber, plastic or metal, silicone oil can be widely used as a releasing agent for molding and processing of various rubber and plastic products. It is easy for demoulding. It can make the surface of the product clean, smooth with clear texture.
6.Healthcare and food industries
The commonly used medical silicone oil is polydimethylsiloxane. For its antifoaming property, it can be made into antibloating tablets for abdominal distension and aerosol for pulmonary edema. And it can also be used as an anti-adhesion agent for preventing intestinal adhesion in abdominal surgery and as gastric juice defoaming agent in gastroscopy and lubricant for some medical and surgical instruments.
