Nonwovens are also called nonwoven fabric, supatex fabrics and adhesive-bonded fabrics.
The classification of nonwovens is as following.
1.According to manufacturing technique:
(1) Spunlace non-woven fabric:
It is to spray a high-pressure fine water flow onto one or more layers of fiber mesh, which binds the fibers together. So that the fiber mesh is reinforced and has certain strength.
(2) Heat bonded non-woven fabric:
It is to add fibrous or powdery hot-melt bonding reinforcement material into the fiber mesh. Then the fiber mesh is reinforced into cloth by heating, melting and cooling.
(3) Air-laid pulp non-woven fabric:
It is also called air-laid paper and dry papermaking non-woven fabric. It is to use air mesh technology to loosen the wood pulp fiberboard into a single fiber state, and use air flow method to agglutinate the fibers into a mesh, and then reinforce the fiber mesh into cloth.
(4) Wet non-woven fabric:
It is to loosen the fibrous materials which are in the water medium into a single fiber. At the same time, it mixes different fibers together to make fiber suspension slurry. The fiber suspension slurry is transported to a network forming mechanism. The fibers are formed into mesh in the wet state and then reinforced into cloth.
(5) Melt-blown non-woven fabric:
Feeding polymer → Melting and extruding → Fiber forming → Fiber cooling
→ Meshing forming → Reinforced into cloth
(6) Needled non-woven fabric:
It is a kind of dry forming non-woven fabric. It is to make use of the piercing effect of the needle to reinforce the loose fiber mesh into cloth.
(7) Sew-knitting non-woven fabric:
It is a kind of dry forming non-woven fabric. It is made use of the warp knitting coil structure to reinforce the fiber mesh, yarn layer and non-woven material (as plastic film and plastic thin metal foil, etc.) or their combination into non-woven cloth.
2.According to application:
(1) Non-woven fabric for medical and sanitary use:
Surgical clothing, protective clothing, sterile pad, mask, diaper, civil cleaning cloth, wiping cloth, wet face towel, magic towel, soft towel roll, beauty supplies, sanitary napkins, sanitary pads and disposable sanitary cloth, etc.
(2) Non-woven fabric for home decoration:
Wall covering fabric, table cloth, sheet and bedspread, etc.
(3) Non-woven fabric for clothing:
Lining, fusible interlining, floc, setting cotton and various kinds of synthetic leather soles, etc.
(4) Non-woven fabric for industrial use:
Filter materials, insulation materials, cement packaging bags, geotechnical cloth and covering cloth, etc.
(5) Non-woven fabric for agricultural use:
Crop protection cloth, seedling cloth, irrigation cloth, heat preservation curtain, etc.
(6) Other non-woven fabric:
Space cotton, terminal insulation and acoustic insulating materials, oil absorbent felt, smoke filter tip and tea bags, etc.
